Quality Engineer – Automation

About the Role

We are seeking young professionals to join our Quality Engineering team based in Makati who can contribute to our existing quality engineering and testing processes. Quality Engineers are responsible for contributing to every phase of the software development process to ensure that the product adheres to the standards set by the company. Quality Engineers must be equipped with the right set of technical skills balanced with a good foundation of software testing practices and principles. They should demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an excellent problem-solving aptitude.

What You’ll Do 

Automation Feasibility Analysis

• Review and analyze existing manual tests and regression suites
• Analyze different system applications (web and mobile) and microservice architecture
• Coordinate and collaborate with different product teams to better understand existing features/functionalities, and integration points of the applications under test

Test Script Development and Execution

• Develop reusable and well-written test scripts
• Execute automated test scripts
• Update test scripts if there are changes on the behavior of applications under test
• Develop automated smoke/regression tests within CI/CD pipelines
• Document automation processes and results, report and track bugs identified by automated tests

Participate in Scrum Events

• Attend and contribute to scrum events

What You’ll Need

• Strong knowledge and foundation of software testing methodologies and concepts
• Familiar with front end concepts (HTML, CSS and JS) and various locator strategies for frontend web automation
• Familiar with RESTful API and Web Services
• Familiarity and significant experience in building automated tests on one or more of the following programming languages (Java, Groovy, Python, Javascript)
• Has experience in working on one of the following tools/frameworks – Katalon Studio (highly preferred), Selenium, Postman, Cucumber, Cypress, Mocha
• Has experience in working on an end to end test framework for Web and API
• Implementation of test automation design patterns for Web and API
• Experience in working in an Agile/Scrum development process
